Food products are tested for quality, safety and nutritional content/ composition; and the testing covers tests for spoilage and pathogenic microorganisms, contaminants/ prohibited substances and nutritional content/ composition (e.g proteins, fat, carbohydrates, vitamins, energy content, crude fibre, etc).
Surface and hand swabs from food handling/ processing facilities are tested to check for microbial contamination which could result in post-processing contamination of foods handled/ processed. The exposure plates are used to assess the microbiological air quality in food handling/ processing facilities.
We conduct microbiological and physico-chemical testing of drinking water, waste water, bottled water, effluent water, ground water (pollution monitoring boreholes/ wells), irrigation water and livestock water, among others in accordance with Botswana Standards as published by the Botswana Bureau of Standards from time to time.
Soil testing services include nutritional content analysis of soil for major and trace elements for the Agricultural sector, and the detection of soil contaminants (organics, metals, metalloids anions, etc) for soil screening, pollution monitoring and control.
The testing of stock feeds for pathogens, toxins and anti-nutritional factors is conducted in accordance with the applicable Botswana Standards for beef cattle, poultry, etc as published by the Botswana Bureau of Standards from time to time.
